WINNER | Overall project for the Chartres Judicial Centre

We are delighted to announce that we have been selected as winners of the overall project for the future Chartres Judicial Centre, commissioned by the French Ministry of Justice. This major project aims to create a coherent, legible, and sustainable judicial complex, capable of meeting the functional, technical, and human requirements specific to these sensitive programmes. Our approach emphasises the quality of use, the clarity of circulation, environmental performance, and the integration of the project within its heritage and urban context. This appointment recognises a committed and multidisciplinary team effort. We warmly thank the client for their trust and look forward to launching the next operational phases.

BUILDING PERMIT GRANTED | Reconstruction of the Jean Macé Multimedia Library — Metz

Excellent news: the building permit for the future Jean Macé multimedia library has now been granted! A decisive milestone that marks the move into the operational phase of this important project for the Borny district and the City of Metz.
Selected as winners of the design-build public contract, we are proud to contribute to the revival of this major cultural facility, alongside the COSTANTINI Group and the entire team of committed partners.
The future multimedia library will offer open, inclusive, and vibrant spaces: reception, activity areas, youth and teen zones, graphic novels, literature, music, social inclusion, “making together” spaces, as well as administrative services and storage areas.
The project is built on three strong design intentions:
— creating a true forecourt opening onto the market square, as a natural extension of neighbourhood life
— asserting a sober and sustainable architecture in stone and concrete, designed for climatic comfort
— deploying a simple and flexible layout around a central patio, with a warm atmosphere brought by the use of wood
A new chapter is beginning — we look forward to seeing this place of culture and shared experience come back to life.

TARNIER PROJECT | Launch of preparatory works — Paris 6th arrondissement

One year after the award of the Tarnier project, a major new milestone has been reached: EPAURIF has just published the call for tenders for the preliminary works of stripping out, decontamination, and demolition of the building. We are pleased to see the launch of this first operational phase, a decisive step in the rehabilitation of this heritage building, which will house the Interdisciplinary Institute for Women’s Health — iWISH — of Université Paris Cité, along with housing for student-researchers from RIVP, for which we are the project architects. These preparatory works incorporate ambitious objectives of careful dismantling, material reuse, and closed-loop recycling, embedding the project within a rigorous environmental approach from the very first interventions.

REVUE DE PRESSE | Centre culturel Simone Veil

Many thanks to Le Monde and to Isabelle Régnier for showcasing the Simone Veil Cultural Centre project in Sarcelles, and for highlighting our minimal-intervention approach — preserving as much of the existing structure as possible and reworking the outdoor spaces.
The work on the entrance threshold, with its large timber forecourt, and the emphasis placed on the uses and functionality of the complex have been highlighted.
We can’t wait to see the public take ownership of the chapel’s central space, make use of its many configurations, and bring the multimedia library to life in the side aisles and the chapel gallery.

PRESS REVIEW | The building facade of the IGN and Météo-France Hub in the spotlight!

A few weeks ago, 5façades featured the IGN and Météo-France Hub in Saint-Mandé, which we designed in collaboration with VS-A, in the article “How have our timber façades aged?” (pp. 48–50).

The rehabilitation of this 1980s building forms part of a wider initiative to enhance the State’s built heritage. To this end, the project was designed with a long-term perspective of functional, architectural, and environmental optimisation.

We hope you enjoy reading the article linked below — thank you, 5façades!
